Bridie Owens, a Southern California native with parents of Irish and Hispanic descent entered this competitive field from humble beginnings. As a second generation designer, taking cues from her gifted mother Hermelinda Ferguson, a phenomenal artist in her own right Bridie learned feverishly. In 1989 her mother's own custom Interior Design business that she truly received her apprenticeship under Hermelinda’s exceptional guidance and hands-on training in the art of custom interiors.
Such opportunities have afforded Bridie to work alongside extraordinary design teams such as Dodd Mitchell, Korr Group, SBE, Studio Collective, Philippe Stark, all influencing her style to date. With the diversity of her influences and experiences in residential and commercial design, Bridie continues to implement her unique artistry in each project with passion, vision and integrity. One of her more recent projects applied such talents in the full renovation of a Long Beach property, The Current Hotel. Focusing on a warm ambience with an artistic edge, Bridie assisted in the space planning and supplied unique custom furniture for the hotel’s public space, common areas and guest rooms. It is projects like these that continue to inspire and move Bride as an artist and Cachette as a company.
By 1997 the family business had evolved and commercial projects were steady among the design business clientele. Bridie proved to be a natural in the field of design and naturally branched out with her own business, Cachette LLC, in the spring of 2000. Recognized early in her career by the Rande Gerber in 1997, Bridie Ferguson assisted in some of the designing of the New Year's Eve Party at the infamous Skybar located in West Hollywood’s exclusive Mondrian Hotel.
The success of the Sky Bar project opened countless doors for this artist enabling her to create and further implement her talents producing for the elite Mondrian Hotel design team of Philippe Stark and Ian Schrager. Cachette LLC continues to work with and for an incredible list of notable clients and projects including The Morgan Hotel Group, The Standard Hotel Downtown L.A. & Hollywood, The Roosevelt Hotel, and many more [listed below].
